Apple shutting down legacy TestFlight next month following iTunes Connect integration
Apple today began informing legacy TestFlight users that the services on TestFlightApp.com will no longer be available after February 26th, 2015. Apple bought the popular software testing distribution service through its acquisition of Burstly almost a year ago, and announced plans at WWDC 2014 to roll out its own version of the service in the future. Since then, Apple has integrated TestFlight beta testing for app developers with iTunes Connect. (more: 9to5 Mac)
JUniversal: A new, Java-based approach to cross-platform mobile apps

Microsoft Faces Stiff Mobile Challenge
I have to wonder if Microsoft can make any headway in mobile. As of now, its tablet and phone marketshare numbers are simply abysmal. Microsoft is so far back in the marketshare pack, it's going to take a huge leap to move the needle enough to matter. (more: Techcrunch)
Animating the Mobile Web
When you visit a Yelp Business Page inside of the mobile app, there is a photo at the top of the page to provide visual context. It also serves as a compelling entry point to our photo viewer if you pull it down. We wanted to have this same effect on our mobile site, so we set out to develop a nice, smooth animation to pull down this photo and delight mobile web users with the same experience they're used to on our mobile applications.
