(more: Mike Gouline) How to Be a Highly Competitive Mobile Developer Since Americans are consumed by their smartphones alone for about an hour per day (a figure that doesn't even account for tablet/other electronic media usage), most companies need highly skilled mobile developers to adapt their website or service to mobile usage. (more: Mashable) Visual F# Includes Windows Phone 8.1 in Portable Library Support Version 3.1.2 of Microsoft's F# derivation has expanded portable library support and enables the Publish option in Web and Azure projects. (more: Visual Studio magazine) Embarcadero extends existing Windows apps to mobile devices With the emergence of mobile devices, connected gadgets and wearables, developers need to extend their app development to fit new devices and form factors. Embarcadero wants to help simplify the process; the company has announced RAD Studio XE7, its solution to build connected apps for Android, iOS, OS X and Windows, as well as gadgets and wearables.
