As a manual Objective-C programmer (I can only program it with the manual in my lap), something more simple is welcome indeed. (Yes, Xamarin is also welcome) (more: Ray Wenderlich) Xamarin support added to Azure Mobile Services Offline Back in April, Microsoft Azure added offline functionality for Azure Mobile Services on Windows Store and Windows Phone apps. It allows apps to continue to work when connectivity is lost, and is a key feature for developers. Now that feature has been added to iOS and Android apps created with Xamarin. (more: Visual Studio Magazine) Microsoft thinks they can make your smartphone battery power last all week That's easy: just leave it in standby all the time. Oh, they have an idea of how to use it, and have the power last. Yes, please. (more: DZone) iOS 8 to stymie trackers and marketers with MAC address randomization This sounds like a nice feature. I imagine Apple will keep some hooks in there so that _they_ can keep tracking you though. (more: Ars Technica) iOS Developers Need to Know Objective-C A counterpoint to all the Swift-related news lately. Probably just a coincidence that he teaches Objective-C.
